Audition for Harvey - Cooma Little Theatre

Auditions for “Harvey” are on 7:30pm Tuesday 30 November at the theatre

A Pulitzer-prize winning play written by Mary Chase in the 1940s (and an award-winning 1952 film starring James Stewart), “Harvey” gives us a late spring evening glimpse into the lives of the people who surround Elwood P Dowd and his best friend Harvey... who is a six-foot-one-and-a-half white rabbit.

It’s a funny and heart-warming and thought-provoking story.

The production dates are planned for 18 March through 2 April 2011 – seven shows including one or two matinee performances.

Because Christmas and New Year happen between now and then, it doesn’t leave a lot of time! SO...

Auditions will be held on 30 November 2010 at 7:30pm at the Cooma Little Theatre, Monaro Avenue Cooma, followed by a read-through and distribution of scripts early in December.

Depending on availability of cast, rehearsals will begin during January.

The most demanding role is that of Elwood – he appears in every scene and will be required to attend most if not all rehearsals. Other characters will not be required for all rehearsals.

Due to the short lead-time for rehearsals (at best, nine weeks), director Caroline Fox anticipates two rehearsals per week – days and times to be agreed.

The cast of ten has male and female roles for characters aged from their 20s to their 60s, and every character is delicious.

Detailed character descriptions will be available at the audition. If you’d like to see the descriptions in advance, contact Caroline via info@clt.org.au .
