I am thrilled to have been asked to help with our local annual Debutante Ball.

The last couple of years my younger children have been involved as flowergirls and pageboys.

I am so looking forward to getting to know the young people involved and learning the dances as well.

THE debutante ball was a holdover from colonial times, borrowed from the Mother Country where the daughters of aristocracy came out by being presented to the monarch, thus marking their official debut in society. via

Chuck:  A debutante ball without Blair Waldorf is like a Tour de France without Lance Armstrong.

Blair:   I resent the comparison to that man whore. But your other point is well taken.
