Ethi-call

You may be interested in an ethics telephone counselling service, Ethi-call, which has been offered by St James Ethics Centre for 20 years.

It’s free, confidential and available to anyone in Australia, from CEOs to mums to tradies to kids. The service aims to promote responsible decision making and to relieve the distress felt by people dealing with difficult ethical issues, whether in their professional or personal lives. Ethi-call is open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm. You just call 1800 672 303.

During an hour-long Ethi-call counselling session, a trained volunteer ethics counsellor guides the caller through a decision making process that explores all the circumstances around the issue including the needs of the people involved, the caller’s personal values and the consequences of different courses of action. At the end of the session the caller is usually in a position to make the best decision for them.

If you’d like to have access to a range of electronic and printed materials to help you to spread the word within your organisation, please send an email to counselling@ethics.org.au.
