This is the conference that brings regional voices together!
Rural and regional women choose to live
outside of the city. It’s a lifestyle choice. It’s where we want to raise our
families, where we want to work, where we choose to exist. It’s in our blood,
and we are passionate about it!
Held at the National Convention Centre (NCC), Canberra from 18-20 February, the National Rural Women’s Conference 2013 will bring together women of all ages from every state of Australia – the voices of regional and rural Australia - to network, learn, share and play an active role in shaping their future.

themes, click on the links below.
Big….inspiration Do you have an interesting story to tell? Have you overcome adversity, achieved something great or been part of something big in your community? Sessions will introduce everyday people, groups and organisations
who are doing extraordinary things for their families, communities and for
themselves.

Big…challenges There are many challenges that face rural and regional communities on a broad scale. Living in a remote location – or simply outside of a capital city – can present challenges in accessing essential services, creating opportunities for residents and overcoming conditions such as drought and flood. Sessions will bring some of these topics into the spotlight and
discuss ways in which they can be addressed, overcome and managed into the
future. You may be an expert in an area of concern, have a case study to
present, or have skills to share in lobbying or advocacy.

Big…business Regional and rural Australia is home to many successful businesses, and many successful businesswomen. Sessions will address some of the issues facing women
in the workforce, present inspiring stories of achievement, provide learning and
skill building opportunities and help attendees to create new connections and
opportunities.

Big…networks When you live in a small town or regional centre, it can sometimes feel like you already know everyone, or at least know of them, and that you have hit a stalemate in terms of networking, promotion and reach. Sessions will introduce
new ways that regional and rural women can stay connected, make new connections,
network, learn and engage, all from their own home.
