Spirit of the Land Festival Lockhart has captured the imagination of the Australian art world
Featuring a National Farm Sculpture award for sculptures created from recycled farm materials, scrap metal and elements of the land, the $17,000 prize pool is attracting national artists and media worldwide.
It’s a country response to drought and flood and in the six years since the Festival began it has expanded to include visual arts, country fare, markets, entertainment and much more.
This year, winners of the indigenous visual arts will have their work reproduced on a train by GrainCorp as part of their “Pathways Together.
Anyone who registers their artwork will be eligible for a return countryLink rail ticker to the Spirit of the Land Lockhart Festival.
So, experience the “mateship “of a small rural community and the inspirational achievements of those living and working on the land.
