FARMERS NEEDED FOR RESEARCH PROJECT in Central West and Central Tablelands areas

We want to know your thoughts about climate change and climate variability

This research project will examine older male farmers perceptions of climate change and climate variation. The researcher is keen to get the experiences of individuals who are most affected in their day-to-day lives by climate change and/or climate variation. It is expected that this research will be published in academic journals upon completion so it is really important to get a real sense of what being a farmer is like in the Central West and Central Tablelands areas.

Farmers willing to be interviewed do not have to be currently farming but can be retired given restrictions in age requirements. If you are a farmer that fits the criteria and are happy to speak with the researcher for about an hour, please contact Natalie using the contact details below.

FARMING SUCCESS IS LINKED TO CLIMATE AND MANAGING CLIMATE CHALLENGES

You, our Local Farmers, know best your beliefs and experiences of this issue and any impacts climate has on your farming businesses and lifestyles
Could that be you (or someone you know)?  If so, we would love to hear from you if you are:
  • Male
  • Over 65 years of age or over
  • Currently farming OR retired from dry-area farming (e.g. cropping and/or livestock)
  • Live within 80 km of Orange, Parkes, Bathurst, Lithgow, Wellington, Blayney, Manildra, Molong and Canowindra
All interviews and information will remain private and confidential.

This study is a part of a student research project.

If you would like to participate or would like more information about this study, please contact
