Search Begins For Next Generation Of Rural Leaders

Applications open for RAS Rural Achiever Award

The search for the next generation of Australia’s rural leaders has begun with applications now open for the 2013 Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) Rural Achiever Award.
 
Celebrating 25 years of the RAS Rural Achiever Award in 2014, the program recognises and celebrates the positive contribution young people make to rural communities and the agricultural industry.
 
Eight finalists will be selected to participate in the 2014 Rural Achievers program. The 12-month program will provide a range of networking and professional development opportunities including: 

-          Participation in the Woolworths Agricultural Business Scholarship Program.
-          Attendance at the 2014 RAS of the Commonwealth Biennial Conference and Next Gen                         Missions.
-          Behind-the-scenes experience at the 2014 Sydney Royal Easter Show; official functions with              RAS Councilors and ASC representatives, cocktail reception at Government House, tours of                  NSW Parliament House and Rural Press Offices - home of program sponsor The Land                          newspaper.
-          Representing the RAS at Royal Shows around the country. 
 
All finalists will receive $2,000 in prize money, a 12-month RAS Membership and be outfitted in the latest country clothing from Akubra and Thomas Cook Clothing Co.
 
The RAS Rural Achiever Award is open to all residents of NSW aged between 20 and 29. Entries close Friday 11 October, 2013. To apply, please visit www.sydneyroyal.com.au/ruralachiever.
