CALL FOR ENTRIES – 2014 Calleen Art Award and Central West Regional Art Award

The Cowra Regional Art Gallery is delighted to once again invite artists to enter the following art awards.

The Calleen Art Award

The Calleen Art Award is an acquisitive national art award for painting in any subject. The award was established in 1977 by Patricia Fagan OAM and is made possible by the generous support of the Calleen Trust. The winner of the 2014 Calleen Art Award will receive a prize money of $18,000.

The Central West Regional Art Award

The Central West Regional Art Award is a non-acquisitive award for painting or drawing in any subject. This award is only open to artists living in the local government areas of Bathurst, Blayney, Boorowa, Cabonne, Cowra, Crookwell, Forbes, Lachlan including Upper Lachlan), Lithgow, Mudgee, Gulgong, Oberon, Orange, Parkes, Weddin, Young and Wellington.
The Central West Regional Art Award was established in 2009 by the Cowra Regional Art Gallery with the generous support of a private donor. The winner of the 2014 Central West Regional Art Award will receive prize money of $2,000. A first time winner will also receive the opportunity of a solo exhibition at the Cowra Regional Art Gallery.

People’s Choice Award

The People’s Choice Award is non-acquisitive and awarded at the end of the exhibition. The winner will receive prize money of $500.

Entries Close: Friday 7 March 2014.
Exhibition Opening/Announcement of the Award Winners: Saturday 3 May 2014.
Exhibition dates: 4 May to 15 June 2014.
