Ten speakers, six musicians, a poet and lunch.
- Professor Gordon Parker of the Black Dog Institute and the grandfather of rural mental health.
- Dai Le, Financial Review Woman of Influence, will be talking about diversity and inclusion (and is on ABC TV's Q & A Monday 2 November!
- Journalist Mieke Buchan will be talking about the power of having a yarn.
- Architect Al Baxter will be talking about sustainable regional architecture (he played a bit of footy in his younger days).
There will also be talks on solutions journalism, food security, loneliness, using words to shape our futures, how to run a circus and the challenge of feeding billions. Add in half a dozen local musicians and a poet and there’s a big day on offer.
Orange TEDX is part of a worldwide not for profit phenomenon that aims to spread ideas to create change with in communities through sharing - one talk at a time.
This will be the first ever TEDX to Orange with live streaming through the central and far west with the support of Optus and TAFE.
