A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE FOR CITY STUDENTS TO DISCOVER WHAT AGRICULTURE IS ABOUT AND WHERE THEIR FOOD AND CLOTHING COMES FROM.

FX aims to give city school students the opportunity to experience the food and fibre industry and learn about its complexities and the career opportunities it offers by experiencing the rural lifestyle first hand, while working on a farm for a week and attending various related agribusinesses. The program is a partnership between Rabobank and metropolitan schools and is coordinated by 2realise

Nanny Pilot Programme Open until 5pm AEDT on 30 October 2015

The Australian Government is investing $246 million over two years for the Nanny Pilot Programme.
The pilot programme will provide subsidised care for about 10,000 children to help families meet the cost of using a nanny.
It will support families who struggle to access child care services because they work non standard hours, or live in regional or remote areas or away from existing child care.
The Nanny Pilot Programme Guidelines provide further information on how the pilot programme will operate, including eligibility criteria for service providers, families and nannies. A Nanny Pilot Programme fact sheet and frequently asked questions are also available.
The pilot programme will formally commence in early 2016 when service providers begin matching nannies to participating families. The start date for a nanny will depend on a family’s requirements, and when a suitable nanny is available. We expect that the take up of the pilot will grow over time as more nannies and families are progressively matched and care commences.
The pilot programme will run until 31 December 2017. An independent evaluation will take place throughout the pilot to help the Government develop future policy for care provided in the family home.

Applications from families wishing to participate in the pilot are now open until 5pm AEDT on 30 October 2015. Further information can be found on the Families page.

After Breast Cancer - Rural Regional Breast Reconstruction Awareness Event - Hunter NSW

Reclaim Your Curves was set up to educate and support women about their options for restoring their bodies after breast cancer. One of our focuses is, through education and peer support, to help address the very low rates of breast reconstruction especially in rural and regional Australia.

We are running a series of free Information and Awareness Events, the first being at Maitland Hospital on November 23 in conjunction with oncoplastic and plastic surgeons and breast care nurses from the Hunter / Central Coast region. The evening will also feature local patients who have had reconstruction, and who will be there to tell their stories.

These events are to help Reclaim Your Curves connect with women who might not otherwise have peer support for this healing step and who might be unaware of the new technology or opportunities available for them. We offer several options for peer support and medically endorsed resources that your clientele may benefit from.
